This is the first Cache for the begining of the Mitosan to Ome City Backpacking - GeoCaching Course. This course should take about three days (with two nights) to complete. There are a couple of small Huts (free) and Camping sites are available along the course.
This is the First GeoCache of the course. It is located near the summit of Mt. Mito-San which is located in the Western part of Tokyo. Mt. Mitosan is one of the "Three Famous Mountains of Okutama", and from its summit you can see a wonderful view of Mt Fuji on a clear day!! You can also see a nice view of Mt. Kumotoriyama to the Northwest across the Lake Okutama valley. Mt. Kumotoriyama is the higest mountain in the Tokyo Prefecture and also has a GeoCache in place at its Peak 
This Cache is not very hard to find, but it does take some time and effort to get to the Cache hide spot. The trail is well maintained, well marked, and easy to follow.
It is best to reach the Summit first, and then begin your search for the Cache. There are many many visitors to this summit so the Cache is hidden just a little South of the summit, just slightly off a little side trail.
The Cache contains several small "Goodies" for trade, a Log Book & Pencil, and a personal "PathTag" from the owner. (Also, small gift for FTF inside the front cover of the Log Book 
)
