A cache at the fishponds next to the railway close to Mesztegnyo.
The ancestor of present railway was built in 1925 by the local
counts Hunyadi was built in 1925. That railway line was called
"Muki"-t, which is serving the logging with steam train operated
until 1945. The line after the socialization of the forest used by
horse-drawn train. After 1960 the railroad owns more than 9
kilometers line; with diesel locomotive delivered on schedule the
inhabitants of the local residents. The decline of logging, and the
neighbourhood (Kak, Libickozma, Háromház, Kopár-puszta,
Lencsen-puszta and Cserfekvés) was depopulated, and the important
of the railway was reduced. Nowadays, the passengers usual are only
tourists. The little railway is working among Mesztegnyo Railway
Station (N46° 30,446' E17° 26,009') and village Felsokak (N46°
28.231' E17° 30.777'). The journey takes 45 minutes and 8800
meters. The starting points are the local main Mesztegnyo railway
station and the sawmill of the Forestry. The train is a few
kilometers after the Boronka-melléki protected landscape area. Next
interesting is the Busvári fishpond and then leaving Szúnyogvár and
Répcehomok, crosses the Hajmáslapi fishpond, after Nagyhomok and
Mélyéger ends in the terminus, where you can find a great picnic
and resting place.
