Located at the entrance of Kotárgil. There is an easy hike to the cache and it is not to difficult to locate.
Kotárgil is amazing river canyon. The Cache is at the entrance to the canyon. It is good to park just east of the bridge on road nr 1. Then it is about 200 m hike. Best to go through the gates (3 of them), just remember to close them behind you.
There is a hiking path into the canyon, but can be rough and sometimes you need to jump over stones.
It is however worth the trip, as you can see remains of an old forest, as holes in the basaltic rocks. The canyon shows how the older Icelandic basaltic mountains are build.
