DATE: Saturday, April 21st, 2012
TIME: 9:00am - 2:00pm. See schedule of events below

Time for a cleanup! The Wisconsin Geocaching Association (WGA) is proud to sponsor Appleton's 6th Annual CITO Geocaching event! (What is CITO?) This regional event will be held April 21st at the Telulah Park Pavilion in Appleton.

Our Goal this year is to Clean: Telulah Park, Newberry Trail from Telulah west, the North Island trail, Jones park, Jaycee Park, Lions Park, Schaefer Park, Colony Oaks Park, City Park, Arbutus Park, and Peabody Park. That's a mighty big list but we can do it with your help!! Your event host is -cheeto-. Supplies, food, drink, and prizes are being provided by the Wisconsin Geocaching Association.

The CITO will begin at the park pavilion at 9:00am Saturday morning. There is plenty of parking in the lot near the pavilion and it is handicapped accessible. The Appleton Parks Department has given us free use of the pavilion and access to the restrooms.

At 12:00pm, we will take a group picture and draw names for some event door prizes. Must be present to win!

Then we'll have a potluck lunch before you head out for the rest of your day. The following potluck system will be used to mix up the choices to bring:

First character of your Geocaching Nickname:
A-H - Chips, Crackers, Snackies, etc.
I-P - Desserts or Sweets
Q-Z - Salads, Veggies, Fruit, etc.
Numbers & Symbols - Choose Any!

Schedule:

  • 9:00 am - Gather for coffee, juice, and donuts at the pavilion. Plan your morning, get some local caching advice, etc.
  • After that - CITO! Base camp will remain open for water and supplies. Bottled water will be provided to take with you on the trail.
  • Noon - regroup at base camp for a group picture and door prizes.
  • 12:15 pm - Potluck Lunch
  • 2:00 pm - Dismissed

What to bring:
  • Gloves
  • Walking stick or poking apparatus. One with a nail on the end is nice for trash pickup.
  • Safety vest for visibility and safety glasses if you desire
  • Shoes / boots that can get muddy
  • A friend who wants to learn about geocaching, having fun, cleaning up parks, meeting new people, etc.
  • A food item to share for the potluck lunch.
