I have seen many wonderful views across the nation, but this one near my hometown of Crozet remains a favorite. Pull off the interstate for a minute and enjoy the scene from Afton Mountain. BYOP. Also, because it's fun to see where our fellow geocachers are from, please mention in your log what brought you to this lovely spot.
In August of 1818 a commision including James Monroe, Thomas Jefferson, and John Marshall met at the tavern that stood near here to decide where the University of Virginia should be built. Charlottesville won! Go Hoos!
