Sonny and Sandy came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
Event Schedule
12:00 - 12:05 Meet at the coordinates, sign the log, and take a group picture.
12:05 - 12:15 Walk further into the mall. Walk around and act naturally and once the whistle blows you will freeze doing whatever you were doing. Try getting frozen doing something interesting so you are not just standing there but not doing something where you are going to feel super uncomfortable. When the whistle blows again you will unfreeze and continue to walk around. The whistle will sound a third time where you will freeze (where is the fun in only doing it once). Again once the whistle blows the fourth time (it is the fourth after all) you unfreeze for the last time.
12:15 We all go our separate ways
If it is raining the sidewalks are covered so we will stick to the edges of the walkway instead of being spread about in the middle. Also, since it is May 4th feel free to come dressed Star Wars style or bring Star Wars.
