Fairport - State Park Series Traditional Geocache

This cache is part of a pilot project between the Iowa DNR and the IGO designed to evaluate geocaching in Iowa's state parks. The project will evaluate 25 caches at Honey Creek Park for one year. Each cache will have an approved permit.

Enjoy the “Father of Waters” from Fairport. Boat ramps provide access to the mighty Mississippi for fishing and boating fun.
Modern campground facilities and electrical hook-ups are convenient perks for campers. Revel in the beauty of the river and the wildlife it draws as it flows past the campground.
Visit nearby locks and dams to watch river traffi c being raised and lowered as it makes its way up and down the river. Bald eagles often feed near locks, particularly in winter months.
