This cache is part of a pilot project between the Iowa DNR and the IGO designed to evaluate geocaching in Iowa's state parks. The project will evaluate 25 caches at Honey Creek Park for one year. Each cache will have an approved permit.

Escape the traffic and noise of urban life. Walnut Woods provides a natural getaway within the state’s largest metro area. Meander down trails on foot or horseback and let the quiet sounds of nature soothe you. Bring the whole family camping for an easy weekend escape to the wooded bottomland of the Raccoon River.
Within this outdoor getaway lies the largest surviving natural stand of black walnut trees in North America. Bird watchers will enjoy the bird viewing blind. More than 90 species of bird have been identified along the trails and river.
