Where's Wallee #3 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Gill & Tony: All three containers for my "Where's Wallee" series have gone missing. It looks like #1 and #2 were washed away in the recent storms.

The whole area around #1 is badly damaged by the storms. #2 might be replaceable sometime. #3 has gone missing for the 4th time and depends on both #1 and #2.

I'm archiving the whole series now, but will think about putting something to replace them in the future. I definitely want to bring people back to Narrawallee since it is such a great beach.

The cache is not at the stated co-ordinates.

Take a walk along the beach to two nearby traditional caches and the waypoint shown in order to get the co-ordinates for this one. The full walk to find all three caches is along a firm sandy beach and a bush track. Total distance is between 3.5Km and 4Km round trip and should take a little over an hour (unless you stop to admire the views). Welcome to Narrawallee Beach.

Council has recently removed the signs which contained the final clue. Until further notice you do not need to visit the final clue waypoint. Instead, try N=4

Narrawallee is the best local beach for walking and jogging and, to encourage cachers to enjoy the walk, I have placed three caches in the area. To find this cache, you will need to find the other two caches and visit a waypoint part way along the beach.

Where's Wallee #1 has been placed at the Southern end of this beautiful beach and Where's Wallee #2 is near here at the Northern end.  Each of these caches contains one half of the co-ordinates for this cache, but one digit has been replaced by the letter "N".  A waypoint is located part-way along the beach.  It is a yellow triangle on a metal pole with the letter "N" followed by a 1-digit number.  Replace the "N" in each of the other co-ordinates with this digit and you will have the final co-ordinates of this cache. Be aware that there are several of these triangles along the beach. Each has a different number. Make sure you are at the right one.

Beyond the car park is a grassy area with benches, bbq's, picnic tables and public toilets. On one side of this area is Narrawallee Inlet, a shallow expanse of water popular with families. On the other side is the beach, this end being popular with surfers. As you walk the beach to #1, keep an eye open for surfers and dolphins.

The best way to get all three caches is to park at the car park shown here and then walk to #1, getting the answer en-route. Now walk back to #2. Of course, you could park near #1 and walk up to #2, get #3, and walk back to #1. Whichever way you do it is the same distance

If you don't want to do the walk, park near #1, then drive to a parking spot close to the waypoint (try the track just North of Victor Avenue) and finally drive to the car park here to get #2 and #3.

Once you have the final co-ordinates for this cache, go to the grassy area behind the car park before taking a bearing. The path to GZ is a bush track. I have seen wheelchairs taken along it, but it is not wheelchair friendly. The cache is a nano, containing only a log. Please BYO pen. Tweezers may be useful to retrieve the log. It is not necessary to disturb or trample vegetation at GZ. Sit down at the obvious location then look and feel

My original container was much harder to find, but was replaced three times after being washed away by rain. The new container is a nano blinky - a bit of a let-down, I know, but it hasn't been washed away yet.
