Pergamonmuseum Traditional Geocache

Das Pergamonmuseum bildet auf Grund seiner Größe und Lage den baulichen und räumlichen Mittelpunkt der Museumsinsel in Berlin, die mit ihren fünf solitären Museumsbauten zu einem der großen Museumskomplexe der Welt zählt, ein Status, der 1999 mit der Erklärung zum Weltkulturerbe nachdrücklich bestätigt wurde.

Die drei im Pergamonmuseum beheimateten Museen, das Vorderasiatische Museum, das Museum für Islamische Kunst und die Antikensammlung, verfügen jeweils über hervorragende Exponate, die weitgehend so in die Museumsarchitektur integriert sind, dass ihre tatsächliche Größe und räumliche Wirkung nachvollziehbar werden.

Das Haus wurde in den Jahren 1907 bis 1930 zunächst von Alfred Messel und nach seinem Tod von Ludwig Hoffmann geplant und realisiert. Die Gebäudesubstanz ist dringend sanierungsbedürftig, die Sanierung soll in den nächsten Jahren umfänglich erfolgen. Die Grundinstandsetzung und Ergänzung setzt sich zusammen aus Maßnahmen an der historischen Dreiflügelanlage des Pergamonmuseums sowie aus Maßnahmen zur Vervollständigung des Bestandes durch Hinzufügung des Tempiettos/ dem Eingangsgebäude, des sog. 4. Flügels am Kupfergraben und der Räume für die Anbindung der "Archäologischen Promenade", die die Häuser der Museumsinsel unterirdisch verbinden soll. Die Baumaßnahmen sind in zwei Bauabschnitte (BA) aufgeteilt, die Maßnahmen BA A und BA B werden nacheinander, im Zeitraum 2013-2019 und 2019-2025,  ausgeführt, so dass ein Teil des Museums immer für den Besucherverkehr geöffnet bleiben kann.

Da ich selber in den nächsten Jahren mit der Grundinstandsetzung des Museums zu tun habe, lege ich hier einen Cache um über die Umbaumaßnahme zu informieren.

Der Cache selber ist leicht zu finden, damit bei hohem Muggelaufkommen nicht lange gesucht werden muß. Vor Ort angekommen werdet ihr sofort wissen wo er zu finden ist.

Im Bereich der großen Baugrube auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite, wird das neue Eingangsgebäude zum Pergamonmuseum errichtet. Der Eingang zum Pergamonmuseum wurde für die Dauer der Bauarbeiten um verlegt. Folgt den Wegweisern und ihr gelangt zu einem sehr schön angelegten parkartigen Hof, der durch das Ägyptische Museum auf der einen und die Alten Nationalgalerie auf der anderen Seite eingefasst wird. Stirnseitig ist dann der provisorische Eingang zum Pergamonmuseum. Bei schönem Wetter kann man hier herrlich relaxen und chillen.

Since I have myself in the years to do with the overhaul of the museum , I put a cache here to be informed about the conversion action .

The cache itself is easy to find, so that at high muggle traffic must not be sought for long. Once on site you will immediately know where to find him . Thank you for your advice about the missing cover but I already have the cache so hidden as it would otherwise not properly fit into his dwelling .

In the large pit on the opposite side of the street , the new entrance building is built to the Pergamon Museum . Follow the signs and you come to a very beautifully landscaped park-like courtyard that is enclosed by the Egyptian Museum on one side and the Old National Gallery on the other side .
