Geocaching is heading towards the International Space Station (ISS). A very special little Travel Bug® named TB5JJN1 is tagging along with NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio on his mission to the ISS. Mastracchio will be using the Travel Bug as an educational tool to help teach students around the world about geography and geocaching. Mastraccio will rocket into space on November 7, 2013 GMT (8:08 pm PST on 11/6). Every geocacher who attends a Geocaching Event on November 6 or 7, 2013 will be awarded a “Geocaching in Space” souvenir.
Gather at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 6, to enjoy a bit of frozen yogurt and snag this very unique souvenir. This location has limited seating but has easy on-off access to the freeway, so you don't need to stay long. Bring some TB's to share and swap. If you haven't already done so, you can grab the geocache that's very close by.
NEW - If you cannot make the meeting time, the sign-in sheet has been placed at the meeting spot as of 11:30 a.m. on 11/6. You may stop earlier in the day, and the sheet will be collected shortly after 7 pm. This is an easy way to earn a cool souvenir.
