Z miejsca, gdzie ukryty jest kesz rozciąga się widok na park, gdzie niegdyś znajdował się Pałac. Niedaleko też stąd jest do rzeźby lwa, która dziś jest naszą wizytówką.
Pałac w Szymonkowie został zbudowany w stylu Windsor'u w roku 1858. Była to duża kubaturowa siedziba z ogromną salą balową. Do zamku prowadziły dwie kute bramy-jedna znajdowała się przy postumencie, a druga koło wyżej wspomnianej rzeźby lwa. Z dawnego pałacu ocalała tylko część piwnic, które są zasypane i niedostępne, a teren porastają drzewa i trawa.
