Widok w parku na Kościół Wniebowstąpienia Pańskiego
Park miejski przy ulicy E. Romera powstał w 2000 roku wg. projektu architekta krajobrazu Doroty Sikory. Za zgodą właściwych władz kościelnych radni Ursynowa nadali parkowi imię Jana Pawła II. Uroczyste otwarcie odbyło się 18 maja 2000 roku, w rocznicę osiemdziesiątych urodzin Papieża Polaka. Wydarzenie to upamiętnia głaz pamiątkowy z nazwą parku, znajdujący się przy wejściu od strony ulicy E. Romera. W południowo-wschodniej części parku znajduje się drugi głaz poświęcony Polakom, wywiezionym na Syberię. W parku zasadzono także "Papieski dąb" z żołędzi dębu Chrobry (ponoć jednego z najstarszych dębów w Polsce), które zostały poświęcone przez Papieża.
Do atrakcji parku należą m.in. plac zabaw dla dzieci, plac do gier sportowych oraz fontanna. Park jest miejscem wypoczynku dla mieszkańców Ursynowa zarówno tych młodszych jak i starszych.

The view in the park at the Church of the Ascension
John Paul II Park was established in 2000. An unused field in front of the Church of the Ascension, after almost 30 years of existence was finally developed. The park was designed by Mrs. Dorota Sikora. With the consent of the competent ecclesiastical authority councilors of Ursynow gave the park name of John Paul II. The ceremonial opening was held on 18 May 2000, the anniversary of the Polish Pope's eightieth birthday. The event is commemorated by a memorial stone with the name of the park, located at the entrance of Romera street. In the south-eastern part of the park is the second boulder dedicated to Poles deported to Siberia. In the park there is also "Papal oak", planted with oak acorns Chrobry (reportedly one of the oldest oaks in Poland) that have been blessed by the Pope.
To the attractions of the park include, among others playground for children, sports games and a fountain. Park is a place of recreation for residents of Ursynów both the younger and older.
