Kotor is an old town in Montenegro, located at one of the most beautiful bays in the world, Boka Kotorska. The importance of Kotor and Boka Kotorska region in Montenegro history and todays tourism is immense. A great number of historical monuments have made Kotor an UNESCO listed “World Natural and Historical Heritage Site". Kotor is truely a jewel of Montenegro and Mediterannean, with its cultural heritage, medieval architecture and fantastic surrounding scenery.
You will find the Chapel of Our Lady of Salvation at the midway point to the Fortress of St. Ivan.

The steps begin at the northwest corner of the city where you have to pay 8 € entrance fee. (As of: May 2018)
To avoid this fee use the free "old pedestrian way". Ask for it at any tourism office. Allegedly this way does not exist anymore.

Die Stufen beginnen an der nordwestlichen Ecke der Stadt, wo man 8 € Eintritt bezahlen darf. (Stand: Mai 2018)
Um diese Gebühr zu vermeiden, benutze den kostenlosen "alten Fußgängerweg". Auskunft erhältst du bei jedem Tourismusbüro. Angeblich soll es diesen Weg nicht mehr geben.
