Geocache Description:

Cauldron Linn is a powerful waterfall just east of the town of Murtaugh. It's a place where the entire Snake River flows down to just a few feet across and rumbles over an impressive waterfall.

Cauldron Linn is sometimes referred to as Star Falls. Visitors can stand on rocks directly above the falls and peer into the swirling mists and churning waters. When the Snake is running high, the roar is deafening and the ground itself shakes. Cauldron Linn consists of two drops, with a short pool in between; at higher flows, the distinction is blurred and the falls appears as a single, furious torrent.

The cache is hidden in the Cauldron Linn area in a group of rocks. It’s hidden really well and will be difficult to see because this is a high traffic area. Watch out for snakes! The cache is the standard ammo can with miscellaneous treasures. During the summer, the temperatures can easily be in the 100’s. A 4X4 is highly recommended if you want to drive to the cache. If in doubt, park at the top of the grade and walk to the cache. Good luck!
