Geocache Description:

“The Mediterranean is beautiful above all in two respects—harmonious setting and transparency of light and atmosphere. Such as it is, it is an admirable temperer of man. It gives him a hard, unyielding strength: it produces the most substantial races.” J.Verne "Mathias Sandorf"

HR

U svojem romanu Mathias Sandorf, Jules Verne opisuje Pazinsku jamu i pazinski Kaštel.
Danas se u Kaštelu nalazi Etnografski muzej Istre.

EN

Pazin castle is famous for being the largest and best preserved fort in Istria. It was first mentioned in written documents in the year 983. Over time it has grown into a mighty fortress that was built and refined by various owners throughout the Medieval and modern times. At the foot of its walls is a Pazin cave. In his novel Mathias Sandorf, Jules Verne describes the Cave of Pazin and Pazin Castle.
Today it houses the Ethnographic Museum of Istria.
