Za ogled korit Mostnice je potrebno od aprila do oktobra plačati pristojbino (ki znaša tačas 2,50 €), vendar pa zaradi geolova/Earthcacha ni potrebno obiskati ta predel, čeprav se to vsekakor izplača.!
Mostnica Gorge
Najzanimivejši in najlepši del Mostnice je zagotovo njena ozka soteska ali korita. Nastanek korit je povezan deloma s tektonskim grezanjem osrednje Bohinjske doline, deloma pa z njeno ledeniško poglobitvijo, ki jo je povzročila erozija oziroma poglabljanje bohinjskega ledenika. Tako je stranska dolina Mostnice ostala višje oziroma je »obvisela«. Mostnica je pri tem morala premagati višinsko razliko tako, da je v živoskalno osnovo iz svetlega apnenca izdolbla ozko sotesko z vmesnimi razširjenimi deli. Najhitreje se je Mostnica poglabljala v času taljenja ledenikov (pred 15.000 do 10.000 leti), ko sta bili količina in moč vode največji ter je skupaj z materialom, ki ga je voda nosila s seboj, lahko vrezovala v živo skalo.
Celotna korita Mostnice so posledica vodne erozije oziroma dolbenja površja. Čeprav pride večina vode v Voje iz kraških izvirov in ni motna, se vseeno najde dovolj proda in peska, s katerim brusi in preoblikuje podlago, zlasti ob zelo visoki vodi, ko je vodni tok še hitrejši in obilnejši. V hitrem vodnem toku se pojavlja vrtinčenje, ki je najpomembnejši erozijski dejavnik v živoskalnem dnu. V koritih Mostnice so med erozijskimi oblikami najlepše vidni erozijski lonci oziroma draslje. To so različno velike okroglaste kotanje v strugi reke, v katerih so običajno ujeti prodniki in pesek. Voda jih s svojo energijo vrtinči ter s tem erozijske lonce širi in poglablja.
Če se želiš vpisati geolova/Earthcacha, odgovori prosim na naslednja vprašanja:
1. Kako dolg, globok, ozek je osrednji del soteske?
2. V soteski se nahaja skalna formacija, ki spominja na žival. Na katero žival spominja in kako mislite, da je nastala?
3. Določi pri postaji 2 (Hudičev most), globino soteske.
4. Neobvezno - Nastavi svojo sliko s koriti ali na Hudičevem mostu.
Fotografija je prostovoljna, vendar se vedno razveselimo lepih slik.

Mostnica Gorge
The Mostnica Gorge is one of the most beautiful in Slovenia ..
Its origin goes back in part to a tectonic subsidence of the central part of Bohinj.
The other reason was the deepening of the Bohinj glacier, which devoured into the soft limestone bedrock.
This remained the tributary of Mostnica higher, so that the river Mostnica to overcome the height difference has milled in millennia a narrow gorge in the limestone. The strongest erosive effect had Mostnica during the ice melting around 15000-10000 years ago, when the hydropower was greatest and the river could nick deep into the rocks using the transported material .
One can observe the effects of water erosion particularly well in the Mostnica Gorge.
The river constantly performs with gravel and sand. At high water swirls the water and that is the most important factor for erosion.
Very good can you see this effect at the so-called scours (round basin in the riverbed). The material entrained from the water, sediment in water arid phases, until the river swells again. By then higher flow rate, swirled the water and deposited sand and gravel act like an abrasive. The water carved potholes are getting bigger and deeper.
To log this earth cache please answer the following questions:
1. How long, deep and narrow is the central part of the gorge?
2. In the gorge there is a formation that looks like an animal, what is its and what do you think, how it came to?
3. Determine at Station 2 (Devil's Bridge), the depth of the canyon.
4. Optional - Please set a photo of yourself with potholes or at Devil's Bridge.

Mostnica Gorge
Die Mostnica-Schlucht ist eine der schönsten in Slowenien..
Ihre Entstehung geht zum einen auf ein tektonisches Einsinken des zentralen Teils von Bohinj zurück.
Der andere Grund war die Vertiefung des Bohinjer Gletschers, der sich in den weichen Kalksteingrund fraß.
Hierdurch blieb das Seitental der Mostnica höher, so das der Fluß Mostnica um den Höhenunterschied zu überwinden in Jahrtausenden eine enge Schlucht in den Kalkstein gefräst hat. Die stärkste erodierende Wirkung hatte die Mostnica während der Eisschmelze vor ca. 15000-10000 Jahren, als die Wasserkraft am größten war und der Fluß sich mit Hilfe des mitgeführten Materials tief in den Felsen einkerben konnte.
Besonders gut lassen sich in der Mostnica-Schlucht die Auswirkungen der Wassererosion beobachten.
Der Fluß führt ständig Kies und Sand mit. Bei hohem Wasserstand verwirbelt das Wasser, was der bedeutendste Erosionsfaktor ist.
Sehr gut kann man diese Wirkung an den sogenannten Kolken (runde Becken im Flussbett) sehen. Das vom Wasser mitgeführte Material lagert sich in wasserarmen Phasen immer wieder ab, bis der Fluß wieder anschwillt. Durch die dann Einsetzende höhere Fließgeschwindigkeit verwirbelt das Wasser und die abgelagerten Sande und Kiese wirken wie ein Schleifmittel. Die Vertiefungen werden so immer größer und tiefer.
Um den Earthcache zu loggen beantworte bitte folgende Fragen:
1. Wie lang, tief und schmal ist der zentrale Teil der Schlucht?
2. In der Schlucht gibt es eine Formation, die wie ein Tier aussieht, wie heißt sie und was denkst Du, wie ist sie entstanden?
3. Bestimme an Station 2 (Teufelsbrücke) die Tiefe der Schlucht.
4. Optional - Bitte stelle ein Foto von Dir mit Kolken oder auf der Teufelsbrücke ein.
