Geocache Description:

Sipelgamägi kuhjati kokku 1979.aastal tolle aja Euroopa suurima mammutekskavaatori ESKU 1 noole remondiks.

Nüüd, aastakümneid hiljem on sipelgad endiselt mäe kindlad asukad.

Pikemalt võib kaevetööde kohta teada saada mäel asuvalt infotahvlilt.

Sipelgamägi (Ant hill) was piled together in 1979 to repair the arrow of the greatest mammoth excavotor ESKU. As lowering the arrow to the ground was not possible, the excavator itself had to amass a hill, drive the arrow against it and only then the repairmen reached the arrow with other equipment on top of the mountain.

Viewing platform in Aidu was named Ant hill because of the miners rescued an ant colony from the harvesting site with potatoe bags and carried it to the hill base. Now, decades later, the ants are still assured inhabitants of the hill.

Lengthier information about the excavation can be found on bulletin board.
