Equestrian Sports have been part of the Modern Olympic Games since they started. In Equestrian sports athletes ride horses and compete in a 3 events: Show jumping, Dressage and “Eventing”, which is an all-round event. It is the only Olympic sport in which men and women compete directly, there is no separate women’s category.
Australia has won 6 gold medals in Equestrian sports over the years, and 2 of our most successful athletes in the sport are Matthew Ryan and Andrew Hoy.
This cache is located near the entry to Mandurang Recreation Reserve, a facility used by “Riding Develops Abilities” in Bendigo. Students from Kalianna attend and complete horse riding activities every fortnight at these grounds.
NOTE: There is a barbed wire fence near the cache. The cache is not located on that fence, there is no need to go near the barbed wire. Safety first cachers!
