Geocache Description:

The aerial tram travels between Manhattan and Roosevelt Island and offers a beautiful view of Manhattan and Queens.

To log the find, post a picture of the aerial tram passing over ground zero (or leaving a station; the Additional Waypoints will help).

Our kids are huge transportation fans. In NYC, we're lucky enough to have buses, subways, taxis and ferries. Roosevelt Island tramway is a favorite.

Roosevelt Island has many traditional caches, and has a nice riverside path for kids to walk or scoot along, with views of Manhattan. The southern part of the island has ruins of an old small pox hospital, and the FDR Four Freedoms park is a nice open green space.

Arrive at the Roosevelt Island tram station at West Main St. The visitor center is next to the tramway stop on Roosevelt Island and has maps and historical information about the island.
