Akcja „Burza” – operacja wojskowa zorganizowana i podjęta przez oddziały Armii Krajowej przeciw wojskom niemieckim w końcowej fazie okupacji niemieckiej, bezpośrednio przed wkroczeniem Armii Czerwonej, prowadzona w granicach II Rzeczypospolitej. Trwała od 4 stycznia 1944, kiedy wojska radzieckie przekroczyły na Wołyniu granicę polsko-radziecką z 1939, do stycznia 1945.
Rozkaz do jej rozpoczęcia wydał w listopadzie 1943 komendant główny Armii Krajowej gen. Tadeusz Bór - Komorowski.
Po przekroczeniu przez Armię Czerwoną wschodniej granicy II Rzeczypospolitej i odrzuceniu wysuniętej przez władze RP oferty współdziałania wojskowego z ZSRR, 12 stycznia 1944 komendant główny Armii Krajowej wydał rozkaz nr 126, zapowiadający wsparcie Armii Czerwonej w walce z Niemcami w miarę naszych sił i interesów państwowych. 26 października 1944 jego następca gen. Leopold Okulicki wydał rozkaz zakończenia akcji.
W Kotuniu w lesie znajduje się głaz upamiętniający miejsce koncentracji żołnierzy Armii Krajowej, który odsłonięto w dniu 24 lipca 2004r.- w 60. rocznicę Akcji "Burza". Jest tam ładny teren wyłożony kostką z malowniczym lasem, niedaleko jest miejsce tzw. "diabelec" - żwirownia. Miejsce warte zobaczenia!

Operation "Burza" - a military operation organized and taken by the Home Army units against German troops in the final phase of the German occupation, directly before the entry of the Red Army, conducted within the borders of the Second Polish Republic. It lasted from January 4, 1944, when the Soviet army crossed the Polish-Soviet border in Volhynia from 1939, until January 1945.
The order to start it was issued in November 1943 by General Commander of the Home Army, General Tadeusz Bór - Komorowski.
After crossing the eastern border of the Second Polish Republic by the Red Army and rejecting the offer of military cooperation from the USSR, January 12, 1944, the commander of the Home Army issued an order No. 126, announcing the support of the Red Army in the fight against Germany as far as our strength and state interests. On October 26, 1944, his successor General Leopold Okulicki ordered the end of the action.
