Geocache Description:

When you walk into a Butterfly House, you are instantly surrounded by hundreds of floating jewels.

Attention: This Locationless is now a "Waymark" .

I will allow anyone who has logged this Locationless to use their log to create a new Waymark or to log a Waymark if the Waymark is already created.

Butterfly Houses are places where they have made an artificial environment where tropical butterflies can live outside their native habitat.

The Houses are supplied with chrysalis from butterfly farms in the tropics. My husband and I visited a farm in Belize this year, so we could see the butterflies from the other end.

When the chrysalis get to the Butterfly House, they allow them to hatch into butterflies, and release them into the house, where they can be enjoyed by visiters. The houses are full of native plants and flowers, and are very warm and humid.

Butterflies only last around two weeks, and then they die. More are always being hatched and released into the house.

The Butterfly House that I am using as an example is located in the Pacific Science Center, in Seattle, Washington. Whenever we visit the Center, my favorite place to go is the Butterfly House.

Rules for this cache are:

1. This cache is called "Butterfly Houses", therefore, you need to log Butterfly Houses only. A Butterfly Garden will not work. Yes, butterflies exist almost everywhere, and you can plant flowers to attract them. But the whole purpose for this cache is to find an artificial environement that is self-contained, where they have to bring in the butterflies for viewing.

Unfortunately, last summer and fall I had problems with my email, and I missed a few logs. I have looked back on a few logs that slipped through that are only gardens. Since I didn't catch them right away, it's been too long for me to delete them now. That is my fault. From now on, I am being very watchful with this cache, as there are a lot of people who want to post gardens.

2. I am going to give special consideration for anyone who wants to log a find of a Butterfly Farm in the tropics, since there are only a few.

3. You do not have to go inside the House to log this find, since they require you to spend money. But I highly recommend that you do go in. It may be one of the more pleasant experiences that you have in life.

4. Post a picture of your GPS and the sign for the Butterfly House. Post the coordinates also.

5. Only one entry per geocaching team. A given butterfly house can only be logged once as a "find", but once the coordinates are posted others are encouraged to log their visit with a "note".

6. These rules will be strictly enforced.
