With a heavy heart, I must archive the cache. The location was exciting, and everyone who logged it was very pleased with the cache. Unfortunately, careless wall-scribblers sealed its fate, as their actions led to the installation of security surveillance and a sign prohibiting access to the area.

I would like to thank Sander, who bravely carried out a rescue operation to remove the cache from its hiding place for archiving!

Geocache Description:

[EST]

NB!

NB! The cache is not located on the helipad, and you must not go there under any circumstances!

Tallinn Linnahall is a striking example of Soviet-era monumental architecture, built in 1980 for the sailing events of the Moscow Olympic Games, which were held in Tallinn. The building was designed by renowned Estonian architects Raine Karp and Riina Altmäe, with interior design by Ülo Sirp.

The Linnahall stands out with its low, wide concrete structure that blends seamlessly into the urban landscape. Its broad staircases lead to the roof, offering scenic views of Tallinn Bay and the harbor. Originally, the complex included a concert hall, ice rink, helipad, and various service areas. Today, the building is closed and awaits restoration.

Despite its closure, Linnahall remains a popular spot for walking, photography, and urban exploration, especially at sunset. It is one of Tallinn’s most iconic structures — controversial yet beloved — telling the story of its time and architectural boldness.
