Geocache Description:

Part 2 in the Beaumont City Parks Tour series – split into three stages – will involve some sleuthing at the first two sites. Be prepared to take notes and to convert digits into letters. The answers you come up with will lead you to the final cache placement.

Stage One: The above coordinates will bring you to a city park. Answer these questions:

1. Find the tall statue and consult the engraving. Look for the year in which the statue was erected. The second and third digits will become AB.

2. On the same statue, locate the camp number of the group that erected the statue. This number represents CD.

3. Find the smaller monument tablet standing nearby. Near the bottom is the date on which the resolution was reached. The last digit of the year will stand for E.

Stage Two: Proceed to the following coordinates: N 30° 04.A2C W 094° 0D.D86. You will arrive at another city park with an interesting historical artifact. Read the attached plaque to answer these questions:

1. Locate the date when the described action occurred. The day of the month will be the letter F, while the last digit of the year will represent G.

2. How many people defended the installation? This number will be HI.

3. Find the number of people participating in the invasion force. The last digit of this number will stand for the letter J.

List your answers here, then double check everything before proceeding:

A = ___ B = ___ C = ___ D = ___ E = ___

F = ___ G = ___ H = ___ I = ___ J = ___

Stage Three: Continue to these coordinates: N 30° JB.GFH W 094° JF.EAF. You will arrive at the final park to find the actual cache container. Be sure to bring the usual bug juice and spider sticks. Chances are, you’ll need them – even during the winter. We sure did!
