Geocache Description:

Many will read this page, but few will find the elusive coelacanth (see-la-canth). Your mind and body will be tested in the hunt for this elusive creature. While hunting for the coelacanth you will not need to leave Miami-Dade County. The above coordinates will NOT take you to the final cache. During your search you will need to compile a map and find three vital pieces of information not related to the map. Without all the essential information put together the coelacanth will remain hidden. For the well deserved FTF the prize will be a dinner for one or two with the SeaAggies to discuss your voyage. The “The Spirit of Florida” is a state walking stick which has a travel bug attached. This stick is to be carried throughout Florida and passed as a travel bug to worthy geocachers along the way. This cache is the first stop in the “Spirit of Florida’s” journey and is also included in the FTF prize. As you find valuable steps to this cache along the way keep them secret and safe. The coelacanth is an elusive creature. If too many secrets of its capture are released into the wild it may grow agitated. Because of this the coelacanth gives you permission to give any potential predator bogus information to diverge them from the coelacanth’s path if it is requested. Once found please feel free to take pictures with the cache but never ever post words or pictures that will reveal any steps to the elusive coelacanth.

If your head hurts from thinking and you GPS low on battery there is one thing that can help you along in your journey. If you present a Geocoin or a YJTB to “The Troll” and then ask for a small hint in a note, your request, if not too large, may be granted by email.

This cache is dedicated to the noble cachers of Brevard county, where we learned to cache. We miss all of you.
