A Journey Through Hales Corners Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Math Boy: Time to let this one go. The tree WP 2 was in has fallen and since I start college next week I won't be able to maintain it.

Thanks to all who found this cache. I hope you enjoyed your journey.

Geocache Description:

The final cache is not at the coordinates listed above!

To find the cache you must do some simple math calculations since Math Boy has put this cache together. Please bring a paper and pencil for your calculations.

The search for this cache starts at the above coordinates and leads you on a short tour of my hometown, Hales Corners. The listed coordinates are where I spent my spring and early summer. I have another cache hidden nearby called "What's The Score?" Those who play here and live nearby often think of this place as the social gathering place of Hales Corners from early May through mid July.

Start by going to the above coordinates and finding the year that the memorialized person died. Take that number and arrange it highest number to smallest.

Example: 1954 would be 9541.

After rearranging the year, take the last two numbers, multiply it by two, and add it to the latitude and subtract it from the longitude of these coordinates:

N42º 56.343 W088º 03.846 to get to WP #2.

WP #2

At this WP marker you will find a set of coordinates. Go to those coordinates and perform the following calculations:

Take the year this item was moved and arrange the numbers smallest to largest:

Example 1954 would be 1459

After rearranging the year, take the first three numbers and subtract them from latitude and add them to the longitude of these coordinates:

N42º 56.388 W088º 03.205

Now go to the final stop.

Along the way, take a few minutes and read about my hometown.

The challenge of this cache is not so much with the math as it is with the find.

Please replace WP #2 just as you found it.

Thanks and have fun.
