Geocache Description:

DO NOT HUNT THIS CACHE AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES!! THEY ARE WITHIN A LAKE WITHIN CREX MEADOWS. THE FINAL CACHE IS MORE THAN A MILE AWAY FROM THESE COORDINATES TO ALLOW FOR THE PUZZLE CACHE.

Spongebob Squarepants is the friendly, optimistic sponge whose misadventures are highlighted in the hit animated TV series. The only way to find Spongebob is to first find his friends - all hidden within Crex Meadows.

This series of caches highlights some of the natural beauty of the largest wildlife preserve in Wisconsin. I have tried to show multiple types of habitat but was not allowed to place caches in the central refuge area or the two state wildlife areas within its borders.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Peter Engman of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resouce managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. There are ten caches hidden in ten different areas of Crex Meadows. Each cache is a stand-alone cache itself but will help you to find the real coordinates. You must find all ten in order to find SPONGEBOB (10 digits ARE needed because of the large size of Crex Meadows). Inside the cover of each cache is a number. Keep track of that number as they will be used to replace the letters in the coords below.

SPONGEBOB can be found at N45 GE.OCA, W092 SH.ING

To find Spongebob, you must first get "GEOCASHING" (sorry for the misspelling but I needed unique letters!)
The ten caches you need to find are:

You can find these in any order, just remember to record the number in the lid. To encourage people to find this final cache, I have placed a $25 gift certificate to Adventures Restaurant in Siren, WI. If you can, please leave something of value (e.g. travel bug) for the next person who finds this final cache.

This cache is an ammo can. Because this final cache is named after a sponge, the area is placed in a spongy marsh. While the area may seem to be underwater on many GPS mapping programs, I was able to place this cache without getting wet. However, there seems to be only one way to get to this area without a canoe. If the area has had a lot of rain, you might get your feet a little wet. I do not believe that any deeper wading would be necessary even during a flood.

While finding this series, be aware of ticks - particularly in May and June. There are hardly any from Mid July to Mid September or on colder days (<~60 degrees).
