There is no need for discussion. I actually have no opinion of the issue with Landrockets bug, that appears to originally been misplaced by you. But of course you should have known that you had one of his bugs for how long? I would have been bugged by it each and every day I go to my profile after the initial 2 weeks.
The issue about jeeps which I have read in the forums and read elsewhere (I'll not tell) is more important. Jeeps do not belong to YOU, they belong to Jeep4x4 and the 2 other variants of that username and to the geocaching community. They spent a lot of money on the 5000+5001+5998+8000 jeeps and tags and creating the bug pages... I understand your belief that you have to rescue them from being stolen by others, but by doing so you are doing exactly the thing you are attempting to stop.
The relevant RULES are listed right on geocaching.com and I'll paste the section in particular.
Is there any Travel Bug etiquette?
Use the Golden Rule when you find a Travel Bug. Most owners would rather see their travel bugs do a lot of travelling, so try not to hold on to a travel bug for too long. If you plan on holding onto the bug for more than 2 weeks, make sure to send a courtesy email to the owner letting them know.
