About This Item

Snowflake

This was originally Billy Blood Drop TB which was released on 27th April 2013 and wanted to travel the UK (via large and dry cache containers or events) as Signyred's contribution to publicise the work of the Blood Transfusion Service.  As a blood and then plasma (and now blood again) donor he feels he's done his bit and will soon be clocking up donation number 250

Billy Blood Drop is the official mascot of the National Blood Service. He helps them promote the message that it is good to be a blood donor and to give blood regularly as each donation can help several different patients.  If you got to http://blood.co.uk/funzone/ you will find several quizzes, games and jokes and a downloadable activity book.  Here's a few examples:-

.What is Billy's favourite take-away meal?                                                                          "Donor" kebabs

Why did Billy take up acting?                                                                                        Because it was in his blood.

What does Billy Blood Drop cross the sea in?                                                                    A blood vessel

What is bright red and stupid?                                                                                                 A blood clot.

The original Travelbug with this number was called YNWA and was sent on it’s way to celebrate Liverpool’s win over José Moaniho’s Chelsea to gain “The Reds” 7th appearance in the Champions Cup Final and to commiserate with all the Mancs for losing out yet again.
It went on to say "Of course if you're a Man U or Chelsea fan you will probably not want to soil your hands with this Travelbug. However, fans of Arsenal, Everton, Man City, Newcastle, Leeds and most other Premiership and Championship sides will almost certainly appreciate a good team when they see it, as do Liverpool fans when the opposition plays well against them. You’ll probably also be aware of what a class act and true gentleman Rafa Benitez is.  If you are a supporter of a team with "class" (i.e. you know how to win and lose games with dignity) please feel free to take this Travelbug and move it on. It would like to visit caches in cities and towns in the UK which have a professional football team. Good luck to your side – may you never get a bad refereeing decision (some hope!) and may you have the thrill of winning a trophy at least once in your life (something every fan deserves)."   Alas it went missing at the end of 2010 so this is the copy dog tag.   Please try and keep it in circulation for at least 5 years!!
