Current Goal

This geocoin has two missions. Its general mission is to go from cache to cache as a reminder of those that served in the Vietnam War. Its second mission is to make its way - with your help! - to various Vietnam and other War Memorials where it would be great if you could take a picture with the coin (and you, if you wish to!) at the memorial and post it on this geocoin's page.

NOTE: The coin's trackable code is imprinted on the edge of the coin rather than on the "heads" or "tails" sides.

About This Item

Picture from coinsandpins.com

This geocoin has been sent on its mission in honor of my dad, the "Original Pickleflipper" and a Vietnam Veteran. Pickleflipper was his nickname in High School. I use his old nickname as my geocaching name in honor of him!

After returning home (after two years), Dad continued to serve by volunteering at the local American Legion, was a Post Commander, and for the past few years has been a State Director for American Legion Baseball, which is another volunteer post that he enjoys a great deal! Vietnam was a memorable - yet painful - experience for him, as it was for so many that have served our proud country. Please keep this geocoin on its journey in honor of those who have served, are serving and will serve. Thank you! - From: Pickleflipper Jr.

We were on our way to Minnesota when we picked this up.  My niece was excited about seeing this coin, her Dad served in Iraq and has coin.  So, we thought we would take it home with us to Kansas.

This is a relatively new coin I see. I'll be holding on to it until the first part of August, but it will get some good miles on it when I get the opportunity to drop it off.
