PLEASE KEEP THIS GEOCOIN MOVING!! It doesn't much care where it goes, as long as it gets there 
That being said, if it makes it to the U.S. Capitol building, or any other Capitol building in the world, that would be awesome. We own this, but have sent it out into the world so that others can enjoy it, collect its icon and then pass it on to another cache. If you can post a photo of it on its travels, that would be great

We have no idea why we waited for years to activate these, but maybe it worked out well. We can use these to honor, in our own small way, the selfless courage of the US Capitol Police Service officers who defended the Capitol Building on 6 January 2021, while a mob of domestic terrorists stormed it.
The statue "Freedom", on the top of the Capitol, is a USGS Survey Marker, as are several other spots in and on the building. This geocoin shows "Freedom" on the obverse, and the location of two other Marks on the reverse. We were is D.C. in the summer of 2009, and actually toured the Capitol, but never really paid attention to any Survey Markers except for the Mile Zero mark in the Ellipse. Next trip we'll pay more attention!
