About This Item

The "Goettinger Gaenseliesel"….the landmark of the university city Goettingen in the Lower Saxony.

The most kissed girl in the World...every doctoral candidate of the University in Goettingen has to kiss her. This was tradition from the year on, when the statue has been built (1901). 1926 the administration of Goettingen released a prohibition to kiss the statue and it has first been rejected in 2001, when the 100th anniversary of the statue was celebrated. Tourists from all over the world use to kiss her - the most kissed girl in the world.
