This is now MARK 3 of my amazing coin. Now just a laminated proxy copy I hope it will now be able to travel safely. If ever the original and very special coin is found, just let me know, WW
This trackable WAS a tribute to a former village Priest, who is sadly no longer with us .Now the coin is no longer with us either!!! Marked as missing now I am releasing a RELAUNCH.
A wonderful Easter geocoin is being launched on Good Friday 2013, although the date on the coin is actually 2012!
It has a simple mission, to bring happiness and kindness to all. Hopefully it will in some way, continuing Fr. Roy's work. We miss him. Perhaps HONESTY could be added to that list!
Please take a photo or two on your own 'mission', there is usually a church nearyby... enjoy.
The geo coin is in a small plastic wallet with an insert giving a brief insight to the 'simple' mission.
If taken to events please ensure it is logged both in and out correctly, as several of my bugs have gone to meets and have simply vanished, thanks.
This trackable is a tribute to a former Parish Priest, sadly no longer with us. Now the coin is MISSING too, so it is a laminated replica, lets hope all is well this time
He was the Parish Priest in Mitcheldean and arrived here just after I moved here in the middle 70's..
Fr. Roy as he was always known, was straight from an Agatha Christie book. Dressed in cardigans, usually brown... he pushed an old fashioned bicycle [complete with wicker basket!] around his parish. He had time for everyone and everyone always had time for him!
The kettle was always on and cake at the ready for him! His wife Margaret always tried to keep his 'portly paunch' in check but it was all to no avail....A smile always crosses my face when I think of him awaiting my 'famous' pasties arrival at any Church 'do'! He was a super chap and I am proud to have called him a friend, as I am sure many others do too.
The coin WAS a heavy rectangle. One side shows the Cross surrounded with a sunstreaked sky above a burgundy base, this has the tracking number across the centre.
The reverse, shows the Glory of the Crucifixion, in a proud 3D.
I hope this coin, will stay safe and perhaps become a reminder, of just how much a little kindness can go a long way, whether you have a belief or not! Perhaps spreading a little honesty along the way too!
