To travel around the world and eventually return to see the real Chawang at the Singapore Night Safari.
Chawang the Elephant is a real elephant located at the Singapore Night Safari, who currently serves as the mascot for the zoo due to his popularity. He was rescued by Malaysian authorities when he was six years old, and was moved to Singapore in 1983. Since the Night Safari opened in 1994, he has been a resident, and now ages over 40 years old, weighs around 4.5 tonnes and stands at 3 metres tall. Chawang has been used by the zoo as an ambassador for the endangered Asian elephant species, and as part of an Asian elephant breeding program, in which he has produced 5 children.
The actual trackable itself is a small circular tag around 5cm in diameter featuring a stylised version of Chawang. It came into our possession when we travelled to Singapore back in 2017, and has been sitting a cupboard ever since. We decided it is time for him to be released to see the world!
