Current Goal

Goal #3: To reach the goal of an Alethiometrist travel bug before that bug gets to its goal. Those bugs include Whistler (to get to Whistler, BC) Northern Lights (to get to Alaska) or G'Day Australia (to get to Australia)

PLEASE READ: As a bug owner, I want to make sure steps are taken to make sure this bug does not go MIA. Read The Alethiometrists' page for the travel bug series TBPD: Barbrady Unit to learn the Barbrady pledge, rules that tell bug finders how to handle a bug. I would also recommend that no one should keep the bug out of circulation for more than 4 weeks without consent. I also believe a bug should travel towards its goal, never away from it. I also think the bug should never travel from cache to cache in the same county. Always move the bug at least 1 county over, if possible more. If you can't travel out of the county in the direction of the bug's goal, leave it for someone who can.

About This Item

This travel bug gets its name because on those same Barbrady travel bug pages as mentioned above, one of the Barbrady units is lead to the home of a "rogue geocacher" who is trying to flush a TB down the toilet. That rogue geocacher in the picture is my 10-year old cousin Amelia, who is a member of the Raleigh geocaching team The Alethiometrists. The hitchhiker for this bug is a picture of Amelia, hence the name "Rogue Travel Bug". Amelia certainly is a rogue geocacher, as she started a mostly friendly rivalry between me and the Alethiometrists, and she loves to gloat at me when they do well. Her gloating has motivated me to come from behind and take the "lead" in number of finds from them. I can thank her for inspiring me to get more involved in this exciting sport.

By the way, the above rules are just advice. I would strongly advise you to follow them, but this is not like a cache, you can do otherwise if you wish. I have future plans for this bug after it reaches High Point.
