My goal is to travel to Yellowstone National Park. Please post pics of my journey.
TB's are meant to travel, please do not hold onto me for an extended period of time!
Yellowstone National Park is an American national park located in the western USA, largely in the northwest corner of Wyoming and extending into Montana and Idaho. Yellowstone was the first national park in the USA and is also thought to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features such as Old Faithful geyser. Grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, moose, and free-ranging herds of bison and elk live in the park.
This TB is in honor of all grizzly bears. They are beautiful creatures and a few of them, mostly the sows, are well known and can be seen on social media. Many sows have learned to stay closer to the roadside in order to keep their young cubs safe from the male grizzlies. Jam, Raspberry and Snow are a few.
There is another sow who was the most famous of them all, bear #399. She resided in the Grand Tetons and was also known as the "Queen of the Tetons". She was the oldest known breeding bear with 22 cubs. Though she was often seen by the roadside, keeping her cubs safe from male grizzlies, she never attacked humans. We lost this magnificent animal the evening of October 22, 2024 via a vehicle strike.
RIP Queen of the Tetons. Winter 1996-10/22/2024.
I hope you enjoy discovering or traveling with this grizzly TB. Enjoy!
