To return to San Jose to be reunited with his beloved San Jose Sharks. Please leave Thornton in a cache in San Jose, California.
Once returning home to San Jose, I'd like to visit as many hockey towns as possible. Not just NHL towns, but any town, worldwide, that is home to an ice hockey team.
Thornton used to travel with the San Jose Sharks hockey team as a behind-the-scenes mascot. He regularly entertained his teammates with tales of the depths. While visiting the New York City area for an away game with the New York Rangers, Thornton got separated from the team and wound up crossing the river to New Jersey.
He wanted to get back home and reunite with his teammates.
There, he found a Rangers fan that was willing to help him get as close to home as possible and promised to try and follow the San Jose Sharks while on his vacation.
He promised to take him to Seattle to see if the Sharks were playing the Kraken. They were not.
Then he took him to Vancouver to see if the Sharks were playing the Canucks. They were not and they both figured out why. It was summer. They hadn't checked the schedule. The Rangers fan had no excuse. Thornton did. He's a shark and they're infamously bad at using the internet.
His friend decided that the best course of action was to leave Thornton on the Pacific Coast, which is a lot closer to San Jose than New Jersey. They just both wish they had figured this out while they were in Seattle. He'd at least be closer.
