The mission is to acclaim The Global Positioning System by trawling from geocache to geocache all over the world. If possible, please take some pictures of the location, where you drop the geocoin.
GPS (The Global Positioning System) is a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) developed and maintained by the U.S. government. Initially it is designed for military applications.
Radio signals are sent from orbiting satellites to earth. The system enables a GPS receiver to determine its location position, velocity, and time information.
The correct name of the system is NAVSTAR GPS.
