About This Item

The coin

The General Sherman Tree, in Sequoia NP, is the largest tree (by volume) in the world. There are a few coast redwoods in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties which are taller, but none of them is as massive as the "General". And there used to be a Sequoia that was even bigger! You can still see the stump of it in Calaveras Big Trees State Park. This geocoin has a round companion geocoin which tells a little bit about the park.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 9/8/2013 chaosmanor grabbed it   Visit Log

Freakin' useless newbie πŸ‘Ž Guy is active for one damned day, and he picks that day to Find the cache this was in, picks it up and then vanishes from the game. Jerk. Inconsiderate asshole.

So, we are retrieving this for burial in an archived cache of ours, and hope that it turns up, some day. And here's the semi-obligatory "rant" for situations like this...

WE HOPE THAT SOMEONE IS JUST BEING VERY SLOW TO LOG THIS, OR THAT THEY FORGOT ABOUT IT, OR MAYBE DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT IT REALLY WAS; IF THIS IS THE CASE, PLEASE RETRIEVE IT, AND THEN DROP IT INTO ANOTHER CACHE AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE. THANK YOU!

HOWEVER...

IF YOU TOOK THIS GEOCOIN WITH NO INTENTION OF MOVING IT ALONG, YOU ARE A THIEF!! WE OWN THIS GEOCOIN; WE SENT IT OUT INTO THE WORLD FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO ENJOY AND TO MOVE ALONG. YOU CANNOT SELL IT OR ADOPT IT; YOU CAN'T EVEN SHOW IT TO OTHERS WITHOUT RISKING THEM FINDING OUT THAT YOU ARE A PETTY CRIMINAL. WE HOPE THAT YOU GET A CONSCIENCE AND DROP THIS INTO A CACHE SOON.

IF YOU SEE THIS GEOCOIN IN THE COLLECTION OF A CACHER OTHER THAN US, BE AWARE THAT IT IS STOLEN PROPERTY.

We found the geocoin while camping at Twin Lakes. Loved the metal military box. We're moving the coin to the Central Coast California!
