About This Item

This bug was set free in Campbell CA. Campbell was founded in 1851 when Benjamin Campbell bought 160 acres of land. Intially, they planted hay and grain but later planted mostly fruits. Several canneries and what was once the largest drying field (17 acres) were established. The companies were very progressve for their time and employed many women and even had onsite "daycare" and schooling. Mr. Campbell later sold an acre to the RailRoad. With the railroad in town, they were able to ship huge numbers of canned fruits quickly across the country. No known battles were fought on this land! Campbell incorporated as a city in 1952 and now has a population of 38K hard working Americans!
