Current Goal

Please keep this geocoin moving! It really does not care where it goes, although a visit to the Islands would be nice, at some point. If you can post a picture of it on its travels, that would be great  Discoveries are always welcome. Thanks for helping to keep it moving!

About This Item

The Geocoin

The yellow hibiscus (Hibiscus brackenridgeii, or pua aloalo in Hawaiian) is the State Flower of Hawai'i. These were issued some years ago and we bought one or two of several versions. This is one of the original version.

Retrieve It from a Cache 4/26/2021 chaosmanor retrieved it from Stonehenge Colorado   Visit Log

This things had a really weird 2020. Or, to be more precise, the cache that it was in did. This was dropped off in early March. Two weeks later, the cache was Found, but no mention was made of this. A few weeks later, there is a DNF, followed by a whole lot of stuff about fishing and hunting licenses, and then some more DNFs, a Find, then some cache maintenance by the CO. At no time did this get mentioned until four days ago, when a Note was posted to this page. We really cannot begin to figure out what happened to this geocoin: lost, stolen, done in by Mother Nature... who knows?

Whatever the case, we are retrieving this for burial in an archived cache of ours, and hope that it turns up, some day. And, just in case it was picked up, here's our obligatory "rant" for situations like this...

WE HOPE THAT SOMEONE IS JUST BEING VERY SLOW TO LOG THIS, OR THAT THEY FORGOT ABOUT IT, OR MAYBE DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT IT REALLY WAS; IF THIS IS THE CASE, PLEASE RETRIEVE IT, AND THEN DROP IT INTO ANOTHER CACHE AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE. THANK YOU!

HOWEVER...

IF THIS WAS TAKEN WITH NO INTENTION OF MOVING IT ALONG, WHOEVER TOOK IT IS A THIEF!! WE OWN THIS GEOCOIN; WE SENT IT OUT INTO THE WORLD FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO ENJOY AND TO MOVE ALONG. IT CANNOT BE SOLD OR ADOPTED; IT CAN'T EVEN BE SHOWN TO OTHERS WITHOUT RISKING THEM FINDING OUT THAT THIS WAS STOLEN. THE SOLUTION, OF COURSE, IS TO GET A CONSCIENCE AND DROP THIS INTO A CACHE SOON.

IF YOU SEE THIS GEOCOIN IN THE COLLECTION OF A CACHER OTHER THAN US, BE AWARE THAT IT IS STOLEN PROPERTY.
