Retrieve It from a Cache 3/27/2008 Team Rosswell retrieved it from Cathedral of Caching Pennsylvania   Visit Log

Out and about again!

Dropped Off 3/11/2008 NDPeter placed it in Cathedral of Caching Pennsylvania - 17.38 miles  Visit Log

Had this one much too long even if I am friends with GoodHunting. With spring fast approaching and warmer weather (read: more sane caching weather...if the word sane can even be associated with caching!) around the corner it was time to get this going.

On the way to the cache I stopped and got some photos of nearby sites including the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial, the Cathedral of Learning, a Pitt panther sculpture and the dinosaur outside the Carnegie Museums.

I wonder if you could hide a dinosaur sized cache...since micros are so evil.

  • NDPeter with Cathedral of Learning Lots of large things around that are lot easier to spot than micro caches. In fact, this picture could serve as a benchmark find! The tallest spire atop the cathedral is a benchmark.
  • Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall Another large site in keeping with the theme. I work right behind that building, nice to be able to walk out your door and check on your cache.
  • Coins are not Panther food Stopped by the front of the old Schenley Hotel, now the student union where the "effeminate" panther stands...not that there's anything wrong with that. Check the paw.
  • Panther treat?` Had to upload one you could actually see the coin in.
  • How many coins would fit in here? So if you made a diplodocus sized cache, just how many geocoins could you stuff in. Remember to save room for a log!

Arrow is pointing to the coin (the white speck) trust me, it's there.
  • Cathedral of Learning One last shot looking up at the Cathedral of Learning, aka the Tower of Ignorance.
Grab It (Not from a Cache) 9/4/2007 NDPeter grabbed it   Visit Log

Grabbed this from my parents when they visited for the holiday weekend and some caching. I'll drop it off here in Pittsburgh shortly to see where it goes next.

(and hello to GoodHunting! c'mon now - micros are fun!)

Picked him up again for more travels.

Dropped Off 9/2/2007 NoCache-NoCredit placed it in Spot the Cemetery Shapes Pennsylvania - 503.65 miles  Visit Log

Neat little cemetery cache. Needed to find info on a number of cemetery markers to get the coordinates for the final cache. Final was well-camo'd.

  • No micro here!
  • Clever!
  • Back in place
Retrieve It from a Cache 9/1/2007 NoCache-NoCredit retrieved it from Plaza East Ohio   Visit Log

Not really an evil micro; just a quick grab along the Ohio turnpike.

But it was in one of those darn evergreens that makes me break out in an itchy rash!!!

(plus we get the coin another state!)
