Current Goal

This Travel Bug is meant to travel from physical cache to physical cache to be enjoyed by many. Aushiker’s mission is to visit caches that are linked to walk trails, be they short walk trails or long-distance walk trails such as the Bibbulmun Track. Cacher's placing this travel bug as per its objectives will be in the draw for small prizes. Giveaways will be done on a random basis.

If you can't help with the objective directly, please just move it on quickly to a new physical cache, preferably not a Travel Bug Hotel. Please do not take the bug to events.

Not sure how to log this trackable? Please visit the "Primer in Travel Bug Logging".

About This Item

The Travel Bug

This is a real trackable with a mission tag attached. If you find something else please let me know ASAP.

Dropped Aushiker into a new cache I have installed at St Clair beach, Dunedin. There is a short walking track from St Clair to Middle Beach running very close to the cache. The beach itself is a popular walking spot. To wander from St Clair to St Kilda and return along the sand is a good 90 minute walk. The beach at this spot has had a few problems lately and these can be read about on the cache page.

    • St Clair, Dunedin, New Zealand The cache containing Aushiker is somewhere in this photo. Taken from the St Clair Esplanade, the view takes in Middle and St Kilda beaches. A walking track can be seen between the beach and the vegetation to the left.

Uplifted from a very windy cache on the exposed ridge at the top of the Pineapple Track above Dunedin. I'm not a great TB person but decided to help this one along its way because it's the second time I've come across it. It was in 'C' for City View when I found it a couple of weeks ago and the TB owner emailed me to check that it had been there after he saw that I had logged a find for the cache. So, coming across him again, I thought I'd get involved. I am in the process of installing a new cache on a short walkway in the city and Aushiker will be dropping into there.
