Picked up Estelle's Pig Out (great name!) at Ned's Vista and will transport her to a local beach once all this Ophelia rain stops. She's looking good and enjoying getting her sea legs.

  • Estelle's Pig Out on the Move Pig Out going along for the ride. Estelle, see if you can guess where Pig Out is in the picture and where she might was going that day. All the information needed is shown on the GPSr, depth sounder, and compass. The place didn't have a beach cache but is pretty cool.
  • Beach Hint If Pig Out kept on course for few hours and then turned right and followed the shoreline (without hitting any rocks) she'd end up near here...

Sorry for the delay in dropping her off. We had a lot of trouble placing her with out being seen by muggles. We put her in our favorite place in Mattapoisett. We can see this location from our beach house.

We picked up Estelle today from "Down by the Bay". We hope to drop her in another cache near a beach very soon! We will post a picture of her with us later tonight.

Estelle has had a long journey, but is back in Massachusetts. After visiting a beach in Savannah, GA, she settled in for a week at Sugarloaf Key in Florida. Unfortunately, the caches there were not to her liking (too small and/or in junky areas). So she asked to go on with us to visit the Gulf of Mexico, which she did Destin FL. We couldn't find her a safe spot there, so on she went to San Diego, CA. After a week there, she decided to head on home with us. In all, Estelle traveled about 10,000 miles while we visited 10 National Parks (among other places). We finally found her a spacious and (we hope) safe cache back here.

Estelle's Pig Out will be travelling with us to a warmer location in the somewhat near future. Chartman and I will post a picture of us with her before we go. It seems really coincidental that she was first placed at Ellisville Excursion, a site that was our very first geocache found back in 2002! We were there on the day that the New England Patriots won one of the games on the run-up to their first Superbowl victory! I think we will take her to several beaches on a trip south, and see where she feels at home!

My dogs found this geocache container-- I don't have a gps. I have replaced it in the spot I found it, in the marshgrass by the elongated pond. I also found another one at the base of a holly tree but did not disturb it. Very interesting.
