Current Goal

The race is on between me and a Minnesota Viking travel bug. I hope to make it to all 32 NFL stadiums before that other bug does. If you are not going to a stadium, please pass me on and get me as close as you can. Oh, by the way, please leave me in the states as I do not have a passport.

About This Item

BRONCOS RULE!!

When we arrive at the stadium, take our picture, punch a hole next to the stadium and then take me to another stadium or to another cache. Don't forget to post you picture on the travel bug site. Remember, I'm in a contest so don't hold on to me for too long. If I win, the winner of the other travel bug will have to dress in Bronco colors, attend a football game with my owner and cheer for Denver.

After the trip down south, the Denver Bronco TB decided to jump into the winter in a big way and made a quick stop in Detroit just after one of the biggest snow falls of the season. Because of the snow, though, it had to wait a few days to go visit Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, and when it did get there no one else was around to taunt. It was a beautiful, sunny day in Detroit, though, so the TB picked up a couple of geocache locations, made a tiny snowman, and then bagged the place for warmer climates!

Tiring of the sunny weather in Florida, the Denver Bronco TB headed back up the coast toward the Big Apple. Since the NFL playoffs are in progress, the DBTB stopped by Giant Stadium, home of both the New York Giants and the New York Jets. It was hoping to get a quick glimpse of the New York Jets practicing for their upcoming Conference championship game. No one was home, though, so the DBTB just scattered a few left-over bananna peels around the stadium entrance in hopes of catching a few of the Jets unaware.

As promised, the Denver Bronco TB headed to warmer weather along with his friend, Safari Sam TB. After a quick jaunt to Disneyworld in nearby Orlando (where Sam got sick on the teacups), they made a bee line to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Together they marched up and down the street a few times in protest that such a beautiful city has such a terrible football team (3 and 13 this year) but the locals all seemed to agree and it took all the fun out of protesting. Afterward, Sam decided to stay in Tampa a while so the pair said their goodbyes and the DBTB started his trek back north.

The Denver Bronco TB meandered a bit farther north and stopped by to visit Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles. With the help of his new friend, Safari Sam TB, the DBTB marched around the entrance to the stadium carrying placards denouncing the Eagles and encouraging fans to move to Denver. It was a bit chilly, though, so after about ten minutes DBTB and Sam packed it in and started driving toward warmer climates...maybe Florida, perhaps?

After his brief stop in Baltimore and a quick lunch of the world famous Baltimore crab cakes, the Denver Broncos TB finished this leg of his journey with a photo expedition on the National Mall. He and his new best friend, Safari Sam, started at the west end of the mall and walked the entire length with the quickly setting sun at their backs. They made stops for pictures at the Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, the World War II Memorial, the Washington Memorial, and then finally at the US Capital. At each, they paid their respects and paused for a picture. It was a humbling experience and duly reminded them of the heroes that made this country great!
