There are many claims about the origin of peanut butter. Africans ground peanuts into stews as early as the 15th century. The Chinese have crushed peanuts into creamy sauces for centuries. Civil War soldiers dined on 'peanut porridge.' These uses, however, bore little resemblance to peanut butter as it is known today.

The mission of this geocoin is to travel to famous peanut butter places such as St. Louis, MO; Battle Creek, Michigan; Columbus, OH; the Tuskeegee Institute in Alabama; California; and other peanut butter loving places throughout the U.S. and the world.

This is a great coin. Wanted to take it with us when we travel at the end of the month, but low and behold it came from the state we are actually going to. Well, I guess this Jar of Peanut Butter will be doing some traveling and seeing the country. What person doesn't like PB. Hope you enjoy the ride.
