Retrieve It from a Cache 3/30/2008 Kailua Al retrieved it from CRider's Teddy Bear Cache Hawaii   Visit Log

First of three for the day. My wife and I had a few hours off. We wanted to get some exercise and go for a hike. I haven't been to Kahana Valley for a long time and that got me thinking about it. We settled for a 4 mile loop and hit three caches. We started at the check in station and went from from there to CRider's Teddy Bear Cache then to Puu OKila 1/2 Way Cache and finished with Kahana Valley 99 Cent Geocache then back to the check in station. It's was a beautiful hike and only required a little backtracking to grab the Puu OKila 1/2 Way Cache. The weather was great and the views were terrific.

Another day another cache 😛 Stopped by this new cache on the way home from work. Nice day for a drive and a better day to cache.

The newest cache in the State of Hawaii. It's a mystery cache just above Kailua, my home turf. It was in the mountains overlooking the windward (NE) side of the Island of Oahu. Great day for a hike, warm with a breeze so you don't get too hot.

Stopped by a new cache.

Retrieve It from a Cache 3/25/2008 Kailua Al retrieved it from NorthWest Entrance to the Underworld-Kaena Hawaii   Visit Log

This was the third one of the day and my wife and son were not excited about crawling up the hill and poking around in a cave. So they took a beak and enjoyed the view. It was a fairly challenging hike up and I had to scramble over some rocks but nothing difficult. Eventually I came to the cave entrance. I had my flashlight ready but I still had to wait a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the dark after the very bright sun outside. I made my way all the way to the very back of the cave and was rewarded with the find. As I headed out I was thinking about the low spot in the roof and still bonked my head when I got to it because I was looking at my feet to keep my footing among the loose rocks. I had a hat on so I didn't draw any blood. The views from the trail and cache area were great.

This was a mystery cache were you had to find the latitude and longitude in two other cachers. I got both sets of coordinates from the other caches but hadn't got the chance to get out here since I got the second set. I put them in my GPSr some time ago. I was looking at what I thought was GZ but not having much luck. I was now wondering if I remembered to put the second set of coordinates in or just thought I did 😮 I phoned a fried to verify I had the coordinates right and was looking in the right area. After a little more searching I found it.
