I need to visit other dams around the US and other countries.
PICTURES PLEASE! - Bitte geben Sie Fotos mit Wasser!
Seeing me with pictures of other dams will make me happy.
MY Secondary Goal is just to be around water. So along the way to dams you can get pics of me near all kinds of water, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, fountains, even bottled drinking water. The water that the Olivenhain Dam will hold is for US to drink!
This is a small commemorative plaque/coin to dedicate the completion of the "Olivenhain Dam" in San Diego County, California. It was originally glued to a core sample of the dam.
The Olivenhain Dam is the first major dam built in San Diego County in 50 years. At 318 feet tall, it is the largest roller-compacted concrete dam of its kind in North America. The reservoir holds 24,000 acre-feet of water – enough water for a year for about 50,000 families. On August 6, 2003, the first water flowed from the San Diego County Water Authority’s Second Aqueduct into the Olivenhain Reservoir.
