Concerned that the Shark TB that I placed in the cache was found and moved, I called the cache owner (a relative) to inquire if this and other geocoin that I dropped off were still there.

She checked and told me that this coin was not in the cache. I hope that someone will log it eventually. I thought the owner would want to know....

Found this one in the Alchemist's Cache. Will get this back rolling in a week or so. Very first Geocoin that I've found. Very interesting concept. Very cool to know this originated in Germany and has made it to NC because of a common hobby.

[red]DNF'd the Peter Waldo's Legacy cache that the last cacher stated this coin was left in. Oddly enough though, I found the coin laying on top of the Mural Directory Plaque as you see it in the picture from The Lone Cachkateer in plain view for everyone to see and anyone to grab. I, of course grabbed it so you wouldn't lose the coin.

Question to me is how do I log it?

Do I log it as a discovery...no, because I picked it up and took it. Had I not, not less than 10 minutes after I picked it up and while I was searching on the rocks, there were a bunch of kids gathering around and looking at the plaque and the coin would have been gone. Lost forever.

Do I log it as retrieved from the cache? ....no, because technically I did not find the cache container and it was left on top of the Plaque.

So what do I do? How do I log the coin? The only logical solution would be to log it as grabbed from somewhere else. So that is what I am doing.

To the owner, feel blessed, this coin is around longer and hopefully will make it back to it's match soon.

TFTGC and the icon. Will place soon.[/red]
