His tartan's just a wee bit worse for wear, but he's finally going to get off the West Coast now. Fortunately for Cameron, we're traveling to New York and Connecticut early in July and will bring him that much closer to his clan's goal.
Update: The trip to NY was great, but the possibility exists that Cameron was lost on the way there. We thought he was safely packed in my travel bag. I did get into the bag once or twice on the plane and during our stopover. The very next day after our arrival, I went to grab Cameron to take him to a cache in upstate NY and I couldn't find him. I tore up all of our luggage looking and figured I hadn't packed him after all.
When I returned home and checked my desk, swag bag, etc., he still didn't show up. Now I was worried! I knew he made it home from SoCal, as I showed him to a number of geocaching friends, but he wasn't in the usual places.
Then, we unfortunately had to move to our new house a month before we had expected. A 30-day move became a five-day move. As you can imagine, I didn't get to do all the packing myself -- a process I was hoping would help Cameron turn up. That did not happen. So the possibility exists that someone packed him and he is in a box, but I cannot be sure.
Since I'm working a new and more time-consuming job, I still have a number of boxes to go through. I am working my way through them as time and space allows. He may have been taken, lost, etc. on the trip to NY, however, which is my suspicion.
I am terribly sorry for the situation and the delay. I have actually had sleepless nights thinking about it! I was hoping for the moment of rediscovery. As it is, I'll gladly send you a new TB dog tag if you send me your address. Meanwhile, I continue to search and hope for the best.
